Today was an interesting day as well, but not as hectic as
yesterday. We had a two hour ride to Philadelphia, so we got to relax. When we
got to Philadelphia, we all got off the bus and split up into our teams, and we
went around and explored. My team went to Betsy Ross’s house first, which was
really cool.
There was a
woman, acting in character as Betsy Ross, answering questions at the end and
telling us of ‘Her life’. Some people asked stupid questions like “Was there
gum” and “Were there sewing machines,” and she would answer as if she didn’t
know what they were. Others asked serious questions like “How is it like living
in the war” and “Have you ever had to run from the British,” and she would go
into full detail. It was quite cool.
After that
we went to the Liberty Bell, which was pretty cool to see. There was a long
line to get in, but we got in pretty quickly. We took quick pictures, and left.
We walked back to the Constitution museum, where we got to see this fifteen to
twenty minute presentations about freedom. It was really cool, going from 1776
all the way up to present times. After that we went to the Signing Hall, where
we got to sign the ‘Constitution,’ and pose with statues of the people who
signed it.
After that,
we boarded the bus and headed to the Amish Country.
